Company history


La Preferita, founded in 1955 by the Garavaldi Family who still owns the whole block of shares, was originally situated in Viale Fratti, historical area of Parma town. At the end of the Sixties, the company headquarters was moved to Via Casa Bianca and in 1978, the Company type was changed to S.r.l.. Nowadays, La Preferita, led by its President Bruno Garavaldi, carries out its activity at its prestigious headquarters in Via Lisoni, in an area of over 5000 m2 including Management, Administration, Sales, Production and Warehouse.

A qualified staff of specialists working every day with passion and dedication has enabled La Preferita to become leader in the production of half-ready products for the artisanal ice-cream making and confectionery branch. The research and development laboratory as well as the equipments are technologically well advanced, thus however, never lowering the importance still being attached to human contribution, present in every processing phase. Continuously evolved systems for the market development, constantly in compliance with the tradition and the Consumer protection, are added to this. This philosophy is reflected also in the production choice, based on classical flavours, although featuring a continuous up-dating and enrichment of
the production range according to the customers’ requirements.

The main product categories are: Hazelnut, Traditional Pastes, Concentrated Fruit and Bases.
